Hey, Look! A Way to Handle School Shootings Without Conceal-Carry Permits!

That’s right, for all you activists out there still insisting that the solution to Virginia Tech could have been saved by a crowded room of scared, untrained students all firing at once, here is a situation that was actually handled correctly!

First, I want to say that the law enforcement and the administration at Virginia Tech was not negligent in their decision not to lock down the school or warn the students when shots were fired in the dorms, resulting in the death of the first victim. Hind-sight is twenty/twenty and I would not dream of blaming the officials for the actions of Cho. They could never have guessed what was coming. However, a Florida school has shown how quick response and alert can really make a difference.

In thisarticle from a few days ago a Florida campus was put on complete lockdown after shots were fired in a dorm. The campus acted quickly to alert all students and eventually caught their suspect. No one needed a conceal carry permit, no one needed to bring in the big guns, and no one had to panic. The second amendment righteous folks aren’t really going to say anything about this one, I’m sure. It looks like smarter people got together and decided that early action and alerts were going to work better than handing out guns for kids to carry in their school bags. Of course, that doesn’t work for the right-wing cowboy point of view, so I’m sure they won’t mention it when trying to perpetuate their lies about how “gun-free zones” cause more death than than anywhere else.

It’s funny how the Right always tries to spin events to fit their agenda… even something as horrid as a school shooting.

Well, seeing as how I’ve only seen the first season from the BBC, I am exempt from being a dork for not knowing what you are talking about. In fact, you probably got your quote from the American show anyway, because you are innately inept and have no view outside your own walls. Goodnight.

oh yes, your argument is unfounded by the way. 1 i watch bbc america because thats the only bbc i get. 2 I watch the science channel, ng channel, the travel channel, and oh yes the discovery channel more than anything. Yes lets say that I have no views outside my walls shall we. OH did I mention I watch the history channel as well! now whos walls are inept so to speak now.

You base your life experience on what you watch? WTF? I watch Dirty Jobs and Top Gear. Doesn’t make me Mike Rowe or Jeremey Clarkson! (But I wish I could be Hammond.)

History / Discovery / Science / Travel all are owned by Discovery Communications, LLC. If watching those makes you anything, it’s a corporate pawn.

Furthermore, let’s look at your comeback: “OH did I mention I watch the history channel as well! now whos walls are inept so to speak now.”

“Who’s walls are inept?” I think you’ve just proved Katie’s point.

Yeah, I never said your walls were inept.

chris I dont base my education off of those, but I do get to decide if I want to waste my time traveling there or not hehe.

there are some history channel shows I dont care for, but I have to admit the show the universe is actually pretty good.
