Fringe, Season Finale

We finally meet Leonard Nimoy-I mean William Bell-in this last episode of the first season of the hit, new sci-fi series, “Fringe.” Until recently, I pictured Bell to be much more nefarious-looking than the man who played Spock (which is another subject for another blog, since I just saw Star Trek yesterday and it was aaaaawwwwweeeeesooooommmmeee).

Perhaps this is part of Abram’s “fundimental shift” that he talks about in here. Maybe we’re supposed to find out that Massive Dynamics is actually a benevolent corporation looking out for the good of the universe?

Or maybe that’s what Abrams wants us to think…

Could Spock-erm, Nimoy-really play a character with evil, universe destroying intentions? Could it be possible that behind that smiling, Vulcan face is a power-hungry mad-scientist?

I guess we won’t know until next season, when Olivia, Peter (or at least the Peter that is left) and Walter (and Charlie, who I hope will have an increasingly involved role in the series) return.

I too felt that Nimoy portrayed a far happier man than I had envisioned in William Bell, but I suppose that could be either a smile of bliss or a devilish smirk.
